Something to Warm the Winter Blues

This year I am in the mood for sweaters, and yes they are out there already. I have found a burnt orange Willie Smith that I am dying to buy......$range 25 - 30. Working with a small budget I have to be selective about what to buy......style, wearabality, and something that will not alert people to say D---- she has that burnt thing on again.
And I do need to update my jeans, shoes and slacks wardrobe, I know you are saying to ya
self, OMG she is naked (grin) not yet, but the things I do have are Tired. It is time for a make over, I have my new Hair Do it is time for new cloths .
TTFN ...I am off to touch some hanger, and find at least a pair of jeans, shoes or slacks, wish me luck...the cutely shopper

The wrong SHOES to shop in!

THE shoes not to wear when going shopping: loose fitting slides (bad for the back, hips and stride) boots that are too tight (ugh) and Black leather Pointed-toe sling backs with a 3 inch heel.

Some Fridays...because it is the end of the work week... you do that little extra special dress up, shoes and all. Well I had a Friday such as this, I had on my Gloria Vanderbilt (make my booty look good jeans), my Lavender Swede jacket, a purple long sleeve top, and a pink soft cotton scarf (all weather appropriate). I was a fashion vision (cutely shopper that I am) and to finish off the look I had on a pair of pointed toe 3 inch heels.

As things would have it I was able to leave work early and meet my daughter at Starbucks for a little "R -n- R" , refreshments and a little girl chit chat. We decided to go do some quick shop-looking. My fashion look was still going on, she was just as cutely (smile) and although my shoes had been comfortable during my work day... THEY were starting to be UN-comfortable. We continued to look around and 45 minutes to an hour later, we left our shopping Mecca and went to another location before heading home. And I must tell you, the shoes I was wearing were not meant for an extended day of shop-looking. By the time I got in the car on my way home I had shooting pains in my toes, they were numb. When I arrived home, and took off my shoes I fully expected to see bloody toes... sitting and massaging my toes for a full 15 minutes, the feeling finally came back.

Love the shoes, but will not wear them again to do shopping in, always be prepared, keep a spare pair of flats in the car for next time.

Shopping in the New Year 2010

Happy New Year Fellow Cutely Shoppers.

Don't you just luv the friendliness (it was not sincere) of the in store greeters trying to get you to spend more money. Per what She (store person) said during our brief conversation... when I entered the store she did not remember me from Jane, when I checked out.
2010 a brand new year, to early in the game to become jaded, smile move on.

I have set a goal of $25 to $30 to be spent on shopping mini-sprees, providing I have stored monies in my savings account. I will be checking out fashion trends and things to purchase so as to be ready for that burst of Spring and going into Summer, as well as adding to my already on hand wardrobe. This year I will phase out SOME of my Capri's, yes I said Capris, I like um.

I am a four foot eleven, one hundred seventy-eight pound, sixty-ish Black Woman, cutely Sizes, Styles and Fashions are not that easy to find. I like Standards, Comfort and Chic, I know not a combination One is likely to find in your just run of the mill shopping, so I will have to get creative. I am looking forward to the hunt.

The Denim Jacket

I was at TJ's (T J Maxx) and found "The" Denim Jacket I've been searching for and it fit me... the brand was Lauren Jean Co. I had the "where with all" to purchase it but could not decide to do so.
While trying to make up my mind I continued to shop, doing so I ran across a fellow shopper; we were both looking for... after the holiday discounts.
Me being the cutely shopper that I am I admired her choice and gave her my humble opinion of what else would work with her choice. She said thank you. (smile) We continued shop looking... I helped her pick out towels for her son's new bathroom, we also discovered our mutual love for place settings, and that she nor I had a set of dishes with a Christmas pattern. She spoke of a recent family household move and her husband wanting to know how many sets of dishes did she have? She never said.
We disbursed, she went her way I went to take another look at the jacket... size and cost. Still trying to decided I took a bathroom break. I saw that my fellow shopper was still where I left her. Thinking to myself, if she is still there "looking at dishes" after my break I will get the jacket, if she is not I won't get the jacket.
She was still there, I have the Jacket and I am enjoying it very much... this started my quest for jackets - ten to eleven jackets later... but that's another adventure into shopping.

LOOK for : what shoes NOT to wear while shopping.

yesterdays shopping adventure

We entered Books A Million. We were looking at the cheap books . She asked what do you think of this one??? I think it’s a good one, since it is the one I am currently reading right now. Someone looking on smirked and joined in and said, "maybe I should get this one too?" I said, " yes do, it is very good up to now, I am enjoying it."
She got the book and moved on continuing to look. So did we…realizing it was the same person on the next isle we were on, she said “library books' I assuming she meant hard back books, told her she should look at Goodwill. She said she knows, she gets a lot of her books there for a prison ministry she and her husband are apart of…….. however, they only take soft back books, so she takes her hardcover books to Goodwill herself…… I stated to her, "oh! I buy your books." We both saw the humor in this fact and had a wonderful laugh. Moments in time spent with people brought together by a common interest. Reading, ahhhh, a great adventure inside and out of a book.
